Ribeye Steak

Instructions:

1. Start by preheating your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Make sure the grates are clean and well-oiled to prevent sticking.

2. Pat the ribeye steak dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. This will help promote better browning.

3. Season both sides of the steak generously with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper. The amount of seasoning will depend on your personal preference, but make sure to coat the entire surface for even flavor.

4. Drizzle the canola oil over the steak and use your hands or a brush to evenly coat both sides. This will help prevent sticking and aid in achieving a nice sear.

5. Place the seasoned ribeye steak onto the grill or grill pan. Close the lid if using a grill. Allow the steak to cook undisturbed for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare doneness. Adjust the cooking time according to your desired level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature – 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare, 135°F (57°C) for medium, or 145°F (63°C) for medium-well.

6. While the steak is cooking, melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat. You can also melt it in a microwave-safe bowl in short bursts, stirring in between, until fully melted.

7. Once the steak has reached your desired level of doneness, remove it from the grill and transfer it to a cutting board. Let it rest for about 5-10 minutes. This resting period allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.

8. After the resting time, slice the ribeye steak against the grain into thick, juicy slices. This will help ensure each bite is tender.

9. Drizzle the melted butter over the sliced steak, allowing it to soak in and enhance the flavor. You can also sprinkle some fresh herbs, such as rosemary or thyme, over the top for added aroma and visual appeal.

10. Serve the ribeye steak immediately while it’s still hot. It pairs well with classic steakhouse sides like mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables, or a crisp salad.

11. Enjoy your deliciously cooked ribeye steak, savoring the succulent meat and the rich flavors brought by the butter.
