Should the oven door be left open or closed to cool? Most people make this mistake

After preparing a dish, the heat in the oven can still be very high. There is only one mystery hanging over this device. Should we open the door or not cool?

While many prefer to leave the oven door wide open to cool, few of us know if it’s a good habit to have at home.

Should the oven door be left open or closed to cool?

One thing is certain: cooling the oven with the door closed will not harm the appliance, although the cooling time is of course longer than with the door open. And for good reason: modern electric ovens are equipped with tangential fans, which ensure good removal of hot air and moisture.

On the contrary: There are good reasons why it is not recommended to cool the oven with the door open. Firstly, a jet of air from the device that is too hot could damage nearby furniture. This instruction is indicated in the operating instructions for the devices.

It’s also not a good idea to leave the door slightly open to allow hot air to escape. In fact, this constant tension ultimately puts pressure on the hinges that regulate the opening and closing of the device and which, in the long run, can be permanently damaged.

Not to mention, fully opening the oven door can pose a safety risk for us and our roommates, especially if they are small children. In your presence, we strongly advise against allowing the oven to cool down by leaving it open.
